Beach Street levels up its commitment to conservation after launching reef-safe, vegan, and nontoxic sunscreens that aim to redefine the skincare industry while protecting the oceans.

Leading company Beach Street is out to revolutionize the skincare industry after unveiling game-changing reef-safe and eco-friendly sunscreens produced in biodegradable sugar cane tubes.

“Most sunscreens are toxic for people and the ocean. The FDA found evidence that the active ingredients in sunscreen can seep into the bloodstream even after one’s use. That’s where Beach Street comes into the picture,” says Monique van Der Wal.

Beach Street has launched its reef-safe natural and nontoxic 30 SPF sunscreen that aims to protect individuals from the sun without harming the environment. Beach Street’s deluxe sunscreen and after-sun packages are all 100% biodegradable.

“Beach Street has taken the first step towards caring for people and nature without losing quality. Our goal is to preserve nature, aid local communities, help people protect their skin from environmental influences, and make the world a better place by providing safe products,” Monique says.

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor, which represents the capacity of sunscreen to shield a person against ultraviolet B (UVB) radiation that burns skin and could lead to signs of aging and, worse, skin cancer. Studies over the years have proved that sunscreen with an SPF of 30 blocks about 97 percent of ultraviolet rays.

Apart from being reef-safe and nontoxic, Beach Street’s deluxe sunscreen is also vegan and cruelty-free, which means neither the product nor its ingredients have ever been tested on animals. The 30 SPF sunscreen is 2+ hours water-resistant and does not contain harmful compounds that can either hurt individuals or the oceans.

“The thing is, an insurmountable amount of plastic ends up in our oceans and ends up killing our marine life. We want an end to this. We want to offer an ecological product that, in addition to offering original results and a healthy lifestyle to all our customers, generate environmental awareness and help to preserve our oceans and the entire ecosystem,” Monique adds.

Apart from the 30 SPF Sunscreen, Beach Street provides a wide range of beauty and body care products using natural, vegan, and reef-safe compounds.

Among its bestsellers is the BEACH -STREET Urban Nights Hair and Skin Oil, which allows individuals to spoil their hair and face with an excellent specialized oil. The product contains coconut oil, Jojoba oil, grape seed oil, and a couple of drops of vanilla oil which are known to protect and hydrate the skin and prevent protein loss in hair.

The company has also rolled out initiatives aimed at protecting the environment. Beach Street has supported marine turtles conservation in Bali, Indonesia, as part of its first environmental program.
